Creative Arts Students Explore Brighton on Annual Seaside Trip

At Christ the King Emmanuel, we believe that creativity flourishes beyond the classroom – and our annual Creative Arts trip is a perfect example.

This year, two coaches full of enthusiastic Level 2 and Level 3 students studying Art, Design, and Media traveled to Brighton for a day of exploration, inspiration, and connection. Organised as an icebreaker at the start of the academic year, the trip gave students a chance to bond with peers across courses and experience new surroundings that spark creative thinking.

In previous years, the department has visited coastal and cultural sites, including Margate, Hastings, Dungeness, Folkestone, and Kew Gardens. Brighton offered a vibrant mix of architecture, seaside fun, and artistic energy.

Students shared their highlights from the day:

“We went to Brighton Pavilion; I went on the rides on Brighton Pier and ate fish and chips on the beach.”

“On the coach I got to meet students from other courses at college and made new friends.”

“This was the first time I’ve ever seen the ocean. It was a magical day!”

“At school we couldn’t go on trips like this. I think we should go on more trips to see the sea.”

Trips like these are part of our commitment to vocational learning, pastoral care, and building a strong sense of community. They help students grow in confidence, broaden their horizons, and make lasting memories.
