Talk by Philippe Sands QC
CTK Emmanuel was delighted to recently host a talk by Philippe Sands QC which he gave to over one hundred of our students.
Philippe spoke about his career as a professor of Law at University College of London as well as a barrister at Matrix Chambers. Philippe also explained how he became a regular commentator on the BBC and CNN and frequent writer for leading newspapers.
As a practicing barrister, Philippe was able to highlight his extensive experience in litigating cases before international courts. Leading cases in which he has been involved in include Pinochet and Guantanamo detainees. He is also author of ‘Lawless World’ on the illegality of the Iraq war, and ‘Torture Team’ on liability for torture.
