Content You will study a wide range of practical and engaging units that focus on building independence, personal development, and employability. Topics may include: Exploring different vocational areas (such as Business, Health & Social Care, Creative Arts, or ICT) Communication and teamwork Financial awareness and managing money Preparing for the world of work Health and wellbeing Contributing to the community Personal and social development Functional English and math skills Every student receives a tailored learning plan to meet their individual needs, with dedicated learning support assistants and access to our Specialist SEND team. This Discovery programme is ideal for young people who have an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan), are working at Entry Level 2 or 3, require a smaller, personalised learning environment, and want to develop life, communication, and work-related skills at a pace that suits them. You will work towards the Pearson BTEC Entry Level 3 Certificate to Vocational Study, as well as Functional Skills in English and Maths where appropriate. Course structure Students benefit from small group teaching in a calm, structured environment, allowing for personalised support and focused learning. The course offers a mixture of classroom-based learning and hands-on practical tasks, helping students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Regular progress reviews and pastoral support are built into the programme to ensure each student’s individual needs are met. In addition, there are opportunities for enrichment and community-based learning, encouraging personal growth and wider engagement.
