Social Action Social action is a vital expression of our Catholic identity and mission. Rooted in the Gospel values of justice, compassion, and service to others, we encourage all students to become agents of positive change in their communities and the wider world. Our annual Acts of Charity Day provides an amazing opportunity for students to make a meaningful contribution to the wider community through charity work and volunteering. Students take part in a wide range of activities, including helping out in local charities, litter collection, gardening, working in care homes, and promoting sustainability through local initiatives like the Lewisham water bottle refilling scheme. Throughout the year, students proudly support a number of local and national charities, from CAFOD, the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Macmillan Cancer Care, Demelza Hospice, Children in Need, and local food banks. At Christmas and Easter, the community comes together for CTK’s Annual Gift Appeal, where students generously donate and create gift hampers for selected charities and families in need. These acts of service are a living expression of CTK Catholic values, helping students grow in compassion, empathy, and social responsibility. Community Day Community Days at CTK mark the end of each term, celebrating our mission of “living life to the full” (John 10:10). These days bring students and staff together in unity, reflection, and celebration. Centred on faith, service, and community, they strengthen connections across the sixth form. We recognise student achievements and encourage them to explore their interests and talents through activities and inter-hall competitions. Community Days reflect the vibrant, values-driven spirit of CTK. Trips, Visits and Residentials Students at CTK can enrich their sixth form experience through exciting trips and residentials in the UK and abroad. Recent destinations include Rome, Paris, New York, and the Tien Shan Mountains, along with retreats and pilgrimages. These experiences broaden horizons, build friendships, and reflect our commitment to developing well-rounded, globally aware individuals.
